LETTERS TO THE FUTURE

Many years ago, when I was a child, I wrote letters to my future self.
These letters began like this:
When you read these lines I won’t exist any more, as you don’t exist , while I write these words. My letters to the future consisted of three parts: first a description of me and my surroundings at that time, followed by desires and ideas and finally what I imagined the future would be.
On the envelopes were my name and the date I was supposed to receive it. Unfortunately many of these letters were lost. Some I opened decades later after the expiration on the date on the envelope. I had long forgotten how I had imagined the future, but it is surprising, how precisely I saw this future.
The art project “Letters to the Future” consists of the following:
You write a letter to yourself and send it to my address. On the envelope you write, when (possibly in the period between three to twenty years) and where you would like to get it.
I promise not to open and read the letters, no matter, how long they remain with me.
