Workshop with Egon Schiele

In November 2008, the artist Oliver Hangl invited me to his studio »k48« in Vienna, where artistic interventions often take place. A séance was to have taken place in one room, with the public watching on a video projection in a separate space so as not to disturb those seating around the performance table.
Schiele had primarily drawn nude women, at one point being brought up on charges of corrupting a minor, the judge burning the offending work product over a candle flame. The charge of corruption, directed, at the time, more toward the art than the artist, determined my choice to call on Schiele. A model from the Academy of Fine Arts of Vienna was invited to the séance. During the entire time she was sitting near the »operators«, surrounded by the classical draperies...
